All the Porch Beers recommended live shows in one place.

Avoiding Ticket Fees

Buying tickets online is bullshit, but there’s a way to avoid all the “convenience fees” they tack on: buying physical paper tickets at the box office. As a general rule of thumb, box offices are open at venues one hour before doors open on the night of shows. Any additional hours or deviations are listed below. Box offices are grouped by the online ticketing platform you’d see otherwise. This grouping is key, because (usually) any venue in that group can sell you tickets to any other venue in that group.

AXS

  • Bluebird Theater

  • Gothic Theater

  • Mission Ballroom - Monday – Saturday from 10am to 6pm

  • Ogden Theater - Saturday 10am – 4pm

  • Fiddler’s Green - Show days starting at 12pm

Red Rocks is technically in this list, but it’s not eligible for buying tickets at these venues. If a RR show manages to not sell out immediately, you can schlep your ass down to the Denver Coliseum in north RiNo Saturdays from 10am-2pm to buy tickets.

AXS also services a separate group of non-Denver venues that are a part of a separate “Z2” entertainment. I’ve never tried my hand at these offices, on account of being a half hour away

  • Boulder Theater

  • Fox Theater

  • Aggie Theater

  • Chautauqua

LiveNation

  • Summit - Friday from 12-5PM

  • Marquis - No Box Office

  • Fillmore - Fridays 12PM-6PM and 3 Hours before doors on event days

DICE

The Hi-Dive recently switched to this kick-ass platform, which makes their lack of any box office fine in my book. No hidden fees and practically the same cost you’d pay at the door day of show.

eTix

This platform serves two venue groups, the first is:

  • Cervantes

    • Cervantes is two venues (‘the ballroom’ and ‘the other side’) sandwiched together, with the box office between the entrances

    • Tuesday – 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    • Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    • Saturday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The second group on eTix are:

This second group does not offer day-of box office before shows, only the times listed.

Meow Wolf

Box office is open during regular business hours. Special events like Vortex or Danceportation were unavailable from the box office last time I tried, though.

Pay your workers.

TicketMaster

Criminal scum! They have the box offices facilities and employees there running them, but have chosen to keep it closed and collect online fees. They actually had the balls to say:

The Box Office is not open for ticket purchasing.

Then what the hell is a box office for, my guy? Praying on their government mandated downfall this year 🙏

  • Ophelia’s

  • Ball Arena

  • Mile High Stadium

  • Paramount Theater

NightOut

  • The Black Box - Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00pm - 1:30am at the merch booth, cash only deal.

These hours are just listed on a half year old Insta post, nowhere on the official website. Not sure if they’re still doing it.

Tixr

Direct affiliate with “CoClubs,” no box office at any venue.

  • 1134 Broadway

  • Temple

  • Club Vinyl

  • The Church

  • Bar Standard

  • milk.

The rest of these platforms are general-use event ticketing sites and don’t have any cross-venue relationship.

HoldMyTicket

  • Oriental - 12PM to 6PM Tuesday-Saturday

  • The Roxy - Monday-Thursday 12pm-4pm

  • HQ - No box office

eventbrite

  • Your Mom’s House - No box office

  • Swallow Hill Music - No box office

  • Hi-Dive - a few of their shows remain on this platform, but it seems like DICE is the move going forward for this venue

Shotgun

  • esp. - No box office

That about covers it, though I’m sure I’m missing a few spots.
